Not a great day out at the office in the Championship for our Senior team against Westerners on Sunday afternoon.Louth midfielder Tommy Durnin dominated 1st half of game for the opposition ,half way through half westerns led by 2-04 to 0-02 ,both our scores put over the bar by Jody Keenan free kicks. The Cuch’s missed early chances including a great goal chance saved. Half time westerns led 3-09 to 0-03. Cuch’s 3rd point was one of 2 fine scores by Micheál McCabe. Better display 2nd half from Cú s, 2 more frees from Jody Keenan,a 2nd from Micheál McCabe and point from Cian McDonald finalised our scores and a disappointing game ended in loss for the Gaels.

Congratulations to our amalgamated Cuchulainn Gaels/Cooley Under 14’s on a hard fought and brilliant victory over NaPairsaigh to be crowned Division Champions 🏆. They won by a score line of 2-11 to 2-4. A great second half performance scoring seven and holding them to two scores. Well done lads.

Under 14 Feile 2018 Winners:
Huge congratulations to the U14 players and mentors from Owenmore Gaels GAA Club who won the Féile Peile 2018 Div 8 Shield in Ardee today! They were a credit to their club and families all weekend and we’re delighted to see them going home to Sligo GAA with silverware.
It was great to see and hear the very vocal support for Owenmore from the Cooley Kickhams and Cuchulainn Gaels U14 players, mentors and supporters. This is exactly what the Feile experience is all about – young people bonding and celebrating with new friends, having fun and celebrating their love of Gaelic Games.
A few words from the Chairman on a fantastic weekend for our club and under 14’s amalgamated team Cuchulainn Gaels / Cooley Kickhams
What a weekend….. from Meeting the visiting teams to Fr. McEvoy Park at 3pm on Friday, the joy at watching our guys playing against the Clare and Sligo champions, winning our 3 group games and progressing to the quarterfinals as group winners. Then winning our quarterfinal yesterday evening. Foot golf for the players then home to get changed. Onto Food and a reception in Cooley club house and a disco for the kids. Music for the adults by Ciaran Phillips and The Rambling String Band.
And then the semifinal today……. the joy of watching them line out in our Cuchulainn Gaels jerseys but unfortunately the lads from Hertfordshire were just to big and strong for our guys to handle. Our brilliant skill kept us within touching distance in the first half but their guys just wore us down in the second half. We lost on a score line of 5-3 to 2-2. The dream is over – well for the Feile anyway. These lads will have plenty more dreams to live.
Basically Our lads were exemplary, perfectly behaved off the field, respect and grit on the field. They done us proud.
I would like to congratulate Kevin Smith and Gerry Fearon along with the Féile committee in running a brilliant spectacle in the peninsula.
They were quite a few U13’s on the team and They are already asking where the Féile is on next year….. steady up lads – we have to qualify first…..
congratulations to everyone involved.
Well done everyone.
