We are now coming to the close of 2018 which marks almost 7 months since the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act. There are some significant changes to Data Protection legislation since May 25th 2018 which have an impact on how the GAA, at all levels, engages with its members. It is important that every GAA Club is aware of how these changes in the law will affect the ways in which members’ personal information can be collected and used for the running of the Club. I have attached above a document outlining the most frequently asked questions by GAA Clubs over the past few months and the supports available to assist your Club. Hopefully this will assist your Club in ensuring that Data Protection requirements are being met.
The attached document, together with further guidance and templates for Clubs are included within the GDPR Repository for GAA Clubs on the GAA OneDrive. Details on how to access the OneDrive are available in the document attached below
