Concerts, Workshops, Sessions and more!
We are delighted to announce the second Féile na Tána festival in beautiful Carlingford, Co. Louth. The festival is voluntarily run by a small committee and the artistic directors are local musicians, Zoe Conway and John Mc Intyre. It is kindly funded by Create Louth and the Arts Council, and sponsored by Carlingford House and The Four Seasons Hotel.
Féile na Tána will bring the very best of Irish traditional music to the heart of the Cooley Peninsula in Co. Louth, featuring renowned musicians including Seamus Begley, Mary Bergin, Noel Hill, Michele and Louise Mulcahy, Liam O Connor and Sean Mc Keown, Cathal Hayden and many more. The musicians will all lead workshops in Bush Post Primary School in Bush on Saturday 6th February, and then perform in a tutor’s concert at 8pm in St. Michaels’ Hall, Carlingford.
Another highlight of the festival will be the triple duo concert featuring three duets – Liam O Connor and Seán Mc Keown, Louise and Michelle Mulcahy, and Seamus Begley and Noel Hill which takes place at 4pm on Sunday 7th February. The festival will culminate with a special event by Poetry Ireland, with three of Ireland’s leading poets reading in the atmospheric surrounds of Carlingford Heritage Centre.
The official launch of the festival takes place on Friday 5th February at 7pm at the Foy Centre and will be followed by a youth session – all are welcome to come along!
