The 2018 Louth GAA Annual Convention takes place on Tuesday December 11th in the Centre of Excellence Darver at 7.30pm.
The GAA’s National Club Forum will take place in Croke Park on this Saturday, December 8th.
The Forum provides an opportunity for club representatives to have their concerns aired and responded to at the highest level, and a rare chance to interact with fellow club personnel from around the country.
A draw will take place at the conclusion of the forum for a number of prizes, including a pair of All Ireland Final tickets.
We are now coming to the close of 2018 which marks almost 7 months since the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act. There are some significant changes to Data Protection legislation since May 25th 2018 which have an impact on how the GAA, at all levels, engages with its members. It is important that every GAA Club is aware of how these changes in the law will affect the ways in which members’ personal information can be collected and used for the running of the Club. I have attached above a document outlining the most frequently asked questions by GAA Clubs over the past few months and the supports available to assist your Club. Hopefully this will assist your Club in ensuring that Data Protection requirements are being met.

GAA Season Ticket
The 2019 GAA Season tickets are now on sale and will once again provide fantastic value for supporters in next year’s league and championship. Adult ticket will cost €120 and U16’s €30. This will allow the ticket holder access to discounted tickets for the championship group stages in your code.
Ogsport Lu Review Meeting
The Ogsport Lu Review meeting for 2018 will take place tomorrow evening Tuesday 4th December at 7.30pm in Darver.
Representatives from all clubs are invited to attend.

Our AGM was held last Friday night in our clubrooms with the biggest attendance seen for a long while. Before the meeting a minute silence was held for all deceased members and associates of the club. Chairman David Neasy thanked Secretary Brian Kearney and Treasurer Martin O’Hanrahan for presenting excellent reports. He also thanked outgoing Youth Officer Pauline Kearney for her report and all her help for the last two years as she was stepping down from her post. The chairman also thanked the outgoing committee and Christy Kearney and Sean Mulligan who look after the clubrooms and field management. He stated that due to work and family commitments he would be standing down from his post and wished the new chairman the best for the coming year ahead. Officers elected on the night were, Chairman: Anthony Agnew, Secretary: Brian Kearney, Treasurer: Martin O’Hanrahan, Assistant Treasurer: David Dunne, P.R.O. Aidan Murtagh, Coaching Officer: Jackie Agnew, Club Registrar/Membership Brian Kearney/ Joanne O’Dwyer, Cultural / ASAP Officer: Pearse McGeough, Safety / Development Officer: Declan Byrne. Committee: Seamus Cairns, Declan Hoey, Jim Ryan, Sean Cairns, Sean Mulligan, Damien Kearney, David Fury. New Honorary President: Gerry McGrory. Membership fees for 2019, Adult €50, U18 €25, OAP €25.
Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne’s Camogie Club are hosting a Lip Sync battle fundraising event on Saturday 29th December 2018 at the City North Hotel which promises to be the event of the year. All involved are very much looking forward to this Christmas Show! Please support this event what ever way you can. Members of the Football and Camogie teams, juvenile’sparents, members of running club and volunteers from the local community will perform an Act on stage and compete to become Naomh Fionbarra & St Anne’s Lip Sync winners 2018. The event has been organised to raise funds for Naomh Fionnbarra GFC, in conjunction with St. Anne’s Camogie Club, Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies GFC and the Juvenile section of the club. The funds are to help maintain and develop our much used sports and recreational facilities at our grounds in Ballygassan.
Newtown Blues AGM will take place on thursday the 6th of December at 7pm in the clubhouse.All invited to attend.
There will be a mass in Our Lady Of Lourdes Church on sunday the 9th of December at 10.30am for all deceased members of The Newtown Blues.
What a finish to 2018 with a great win for our U21 lads in Darver tonight.
The match started off just as the rain descended that made for tricky conditions. But rain or not there was no stopping the Blues lads as they got into gear dominating play and keeping the scoreboard ticking over nicely.
We’ve more silverware to add to the collection for 2018. Well done to all the dedicated players many have been going since January this year. You really deserve some rest to get ready for more great things in 2019.

A great night was had by all at our Ladies Presentation Evening on Friday. Thanks to everyone who attended on the night and our congratulations to all who received their medals and trophies. We are certainly looking forward to the 2019 season. Thanks also to anyone who helped out in any way.
