Louth GAA wish to confirm that Colin Kelly has decided not to seek an extension to his term as Louth Senior Football Manager.
Below is a copy of the statement forwarded by Colin for release:
“After three years as manager of the Louth senior football team I have decided not to seek an extension to my time in charge. I believe the time is right for someone else to take a fresh approach with a talented and committed group of players. Our championship ended on a disappointing note but the players have achieved progress with back to back promotions taking the county to Division Two.
I wish to thank all members of my management team and the players for their efforts.
i feel the huge effort we put in to achieve those promotions have taken its toll on our summer campaigns, I wish to thank padraigh o Connor and the county committee for giving me the opportunity to full fill a life long ambition, one with which I worked tirelessly to improve us as a county. Finally this could not have been possible without the unconditional support of me wife Pamela and my children tara and connell, I feel louth is now in a good position to push on and I look forward to going back to supporting the team as a proud louth man,
Thanks to all,
Louth GAA would like to thank Colin & all his backroom teams over that period for their hard work and commitment over the past 3 years and wish them all every success in the future.
