Club members will be in celebratory mood this Sunday night (March 18) when the club hold their 2017 Senior/Minor Championship winning dinner dance in the Lisdoo Arms in Dundalk. A good night is guaranteed and tickets are available at €35.
The senior team suffered a narrow 2-14 to 1-15 defeat to Knockbridge in the Special League in Darver last Thursday night. The Moninne scorers were Darren Geoghegan (0-4), John Martin (0-3), Darren O Hanrahan (0-3), Ultan McEneaney (0-3), Stephen Rafferty (1-0), Ciaran McGlynn (0-1) and Padraic Fallon (0-1).
Upcoming senior fixtures include games against Fingallians (Dublin) in the Leinster League and Pearse Og in the Special League with dates and venues TBC. Moninne will be involved in a Dundalk derby in the first round of the 2018 Senior Hurling Championship against neighbours Pearse Og when the Championship draws were made in Darver last Thursday. The other game in the first round sees Knockbridge taking on Mattock Rangers.
Last weekend proved to be a busy one for our U10/U12 hurlers. First up our U10 team took part in an outdoor blitz at the Muirhevnamore all weather pitch in wet conditions on Saturday afternoon. The blitz was organised by Louth County Council run in conjunction with Seachtain na Gaeilge.
They also took part in the last round of games in the U10 Ulster indoor hurling at the DKIT Centre on Sunday morning. The panel was Luke McCourt, Ethan Walsh, Josh Horwell, Tiernan Bradley, Ciaran Maguire, Shane McGuinness Smith and Maeve O Hora.
Also on Sunday morning our U12 team played at the DKIT Centre and the team was Luke Haughey, Martin Tahz, Ryan Heaney, Cathal Maguire, Peter Wykes Begley and Aaron Cassidy Rogers.
Work is ongoing at the site of our new playing fields at Toberona in Dundalk and members are reminded to help out whenever they can and they can contact Jim McGuinness or Eddie McArdle.
2018 membership is now due at the following rates – adult player €50, non player/student €25, juvenile €15 and family membership €50.
