Leinster: Well it was good while it lasted; we went out of the Leinster intermediate club championship last Saturday afternoon losing by one point to the Meath champions Curraha. It was a good game and we dominated the first half and went in at the break four points up and maybe it should have been more. But all the hard work was undone in the first three minutes of the second half when they got a goal and a point to level the game. We were still in the game and even when they got their second goal to go three ahead we were still in it and the lads never stopped battling until the whistle. But it wasn’t to be, and maybe I am a bit biased but I like to call it as I see it and to me the best team lost the game on Saturday but that is football there is always a winner and a loser that’s why we love it. That is the end of the football for this season and on behalf of the club we would like to thank the players, management, selectors, physio and all the backroom team for all their efforts in a season that started so optimistic, but as the leagues went on promised so little, and then at the end delivered so much. You don’t get to call yourselves champions every other year so when it does come round, enjoy! O’Connells Abu.
