AGM: The meeting started with a minutes silence for deceased members, there were just under 50 people in attendance and the meeting opened with Secretary Brian Kearney’s report, it was a comprehensive, frank and honest report of the year. This was followed by the Treasurer Martin O’Hanrahan’s report with a discussion of the full accounts with all those present. Chairman David Neasy also gave a comprehensive report on all matters both now and in to the future, Youth officer Pauline Kearney also give a very detailed report on the state of the underage football within the club. Membership for 2018 will be €40, OAP and under 16-18 €20. Race Night: O’Connells GFC race night on Friday 29th December in McBride’s from 9pm, all proceeds in aid of the player’s fund.
Bingo: Bingo will continue in our clubrooms this Wednesday 13th December at 8.00pm, jackpot €2,000 in 48 numbers.
New Posts: Congratulations to Malcolm McDonnell who along with Tom Rooney have been named the new managers of Louth U17 team. Also Wayne Kierans who was named manager of the Louth U20’s along with selectors Liam Kelleher and Shane Lennon for the next two years with an option of a third year. Two O’Connells men in big county positions, well done boys!
