Please find below Club Notes for Pearse Óg Hurling Club week ending 04/03/2018
Our under 10’s take part in a new competition this Saturday from 12pm to 3pm in Muirhevnamor Sports Complex. The competition run in conjunction with the Louth County Council is to celebrate Seachtain Na Gaelige and it is aimed at encouraging young people to speak Irish while doing everyday things like playing sports. The Corn an Cathaoirleach is a 7 a side competition played under go games rules. There will be tea and coffee provided for any parents or mentors who are attending and a list of match friendly Irish phrases will be sent out to cheer on the kids.
Underage training continues as normal that evening (10th) from 5-6pm in DKIT Sports Dome for those who are not participating in the blitz. €2 per child with all equipment provided. There will again be name badges at the front desk please make sure to pick yours up before entering the pitch. New members are always welcome and registration is still free of charge for all new and returning underage members.
Unfortunately last weekend say the first of the year where there was no underage games due to the weather. However that did not stop our underage training as a packed house was again the order of the day and the kids and parents escaped cabin fever in the homes for the enjoyable hour in DKIT.
Underage and adult training jersey and ¼ zips are now able to be ordered from Gerard via the club number, whatsapp or any of our social media channels. Deposit is required to secure any item, with training jerseys in boys and girls versions €18 for kids, €22 for adults and ¼ zips €25 for kids and €32 for adults. You can see moc ups of the designs on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
Finally, we would like to wish our 4 member on the Louth squad the best of luck this weekend as they take on Monaghan in Castleblayney, a win could see them get their first national league final since 2012.
