Sean O’Mahony’s Club Notes
The Sean O’Mahony’s Senior team had a very important single point league victory away to local rivals Dundalk Gaels on Friday night. In a low scoring, tight affair, both teams played with vigor, but both also did not take their scoring opportunities. The first big turning point of the game came just before half time, when with the hone side 2 points up, big Conor Crawley marked his comeback with a typical goal, knocking the ball to the net from Stephen Fisher’s squared ball, to leave it 0-4 to 1-2 at the break. The second half was another low scoring 30 minutes, the decisive score came when Stephen Fisher instantly controlled a misplaced kickout and skillfully floated the ball over the keeper into the roof of the net to give the lads from the Quay a 2 point but lead, and Gaels could only claw back one more point before the end. final score Gales 0-9 SOM 2-4.
