The Sean O’Mahony senior team begin their defense of their Louth Senior Championship title next Saturday evening in Dunleer against the Ardee st Mary’s, the team they defeated in the final last September. As the Mary’s v St Joseph’s first round game on Saturday night ended in a draw last Saturday night, one win next Saturday night or the following weekend against the Joe’s will guarantee our lads safe passage to the knockout stages from their 3 team group.
Sean O’Mahonys Club Notes
Our senior team were beaten by 9 points last Thursday night by a well drilled Naomh Martin’s. The home side had a good start, going a goal up half way through the first half when John O’Brien collected the ball in his own half and powered through to the 14 yard line before offloading to his cousin Ben McLoughlin who smashed the ball between the goalie and the corner back, into the net with his left foot. St Martin’s then took the lead with 4 points in a row, before netting their own first goal, in between 2 Conor Finnegan frees to leave a half time score of 1-6 to 1-4 to the visitors. The Martins were on top of their game in the second half, and scored a further 2-6 to the home team’s 5 points to leave a final score of 1-9 to 3-12.
