BRIDES LOSE FOURTH GAME IN A ROW

St. Brides lost their fourth third game in a row in Division 3 when they were well beaten in Mountrush on Sunday evening.

For many of St. Brides players it was their fourth game in six days. Signs of fatigue were noticed immediately and they trailed 3-5 to 0-03 at the interval.

Cathal Mc Kenna found the net within the first two minutes after the restart, when his close in free kick found the back of the Sean’s net. This gave the visitors a lifeline, however this was short lived, as at the opposite end the men in green and red upped their game ad found the net themselves in addition to some well taken points.

The hosts dominated proceedings in the first half and did so again late in the second half to run out convincing winners by thirteen points.

St. Brides Team.

Gareth Corcoran; Gavin Kane, Laurence Steen, Paul Prendergast; Conor Hoey, Stephen Kettle, Johnny Culleton; Gareth Hall, Liam Molloy; Aaron Devin, Bernard Laverty (1-1), Daryl Bailey; Liam Rooney, Cathal Mc Kenna (1-4), Stephen Hilliard.

Subs: Donal Mc Nally for A. Devin, Emmet Kirk (0-1) for L. Rooney, Mark Devin for D. Bailey, Ciaran Drumm for G. Kane.

ST. BRIDES STAY ON TOP OF TABLE

St. Brides maintained their lead in the Division 2 League with this comprehensive win at The Grove on Saturday night. This, their seventh win in a row, means they are one point clear of second place Hunterstown Rovers.

This was St. Brides third outing in five days but their superior fitness showed as they dominated proceedings from start to finish and lead at half time 1-11 to 1-06.

The second half was even better for the Reds as they never took their foot off the pedal and outscored their opponents even more to run out winners by nine points.

St. Brides Team.

Alan Meegan; Ronan Bailey, Laurence Steen, Padraic Mackin; Sean Brennan (0-1), Andrew Smyth, Conor Deane; Alan Dunne, Mark Hoey; Sean Marry (1-3), Aaron Hoey (0-3), Shane Devin (0-1); Ciaran Deane, Patrick Reilly (1-2), Kevin Hearty (0-5).

Subs: Cathal Mc Kenna (0-1), Stephen Kettle (0-1), Aaron Devin.
