St Kevins secured second place in CTI Business Solutions Intermediate Football Championship Group 4 after overcoming Sean O’Mahonys 1-11 to 2-5 in a closely fought encounter.
Both sides entered knowing they had already suffered defeats to Mattock Rangers, leaving this clash crucial in determining who would finish behind the group winners.
St Kevins made the brighter start, with Tom Matthews and Jacob Finlay putting them 0-2 ahead before Cathal Bradley opened O’Mahonys’ account. TJ Doheny and Darren McMullan extended the Kevins advantage, but Thomas Rice and Dauda JR Shotayo, from the penalty spot.

Kayden Fisher edged O’Mahonys further ahead after the restart, but St Kevins responded emphatically. Finn Carter reduced the deficit before Lee Crosbie found the net following good build-up play to swing the momentum firmly in their favour.
Tom Matthews, Cameron Maher, Evan Maher and Doheny then added further points as St Kevins moved five clear with 10 minutes remaining.
O’Mahonys refused to go quietly, with Daniel Cawley finding the net to reduce the deficit, but Keelan Maher and TJ Doheny kept their composure late on to ensure St Kevins held on.
The result sees St Kevins finish second in Group 4, while Sean O’Mahonys’ campaign comes to an end.
