Geraldines Cruise Into Intermediate Semi-Finals With Kilkerley Victory

Geraldines 1-24 Kilkerley Emmets 2-10
Geraldines booked their place in the CTI Business Solutions Intermediate Football Championship semi-final with a comprehensive victory over Kilkerley Emmets at Darver.
The Geraldines made an electric start, with Daniel Nordon finding the net after six minutes before Brian Cafferty, Jim McEneaney and Beanon Corrigan helped establish a 1-6 to 0-1 lead.

Kilkerley responded impressively, with Conor Quigley first finding the target before the forward finished to the net just moments later. Tadhg McEnaney added a pair of frees as the Emmets reduced the deficit.
Geraldines continued to find scores, however, with Cafferty landing a two-pointer and Corrigan and McEneaney adding further points. Fionn Cumiskey and Quigley kept Kilkerley within touching distance, but Geraldines took a 1-10 to 1-6 lead into the interval.

McEnaney opened the second-half scoring from a free, but Geraldines quickly regained control through Gareth Neacy and Cafferty.
Cafferty added another from a free before McEnaney and Nordon exchanged scores, with Geraldines maintaining their advantage.
Kilkerley were dealt another blow when Shaun McElroy was shown a black card, and Geraldines took full advantage. Cian Spaight, Gareth Neacy, Darragh Burke and McEneaney all contributed as the Geraldines lead continued to grow.
Spaight added two more scores before the hour mark, while Burke and Corrigan also found the target.
Kilkerley did manage a second goal through Cathal Bellew with just over four minutes remaining, but it did little to alter the outcome.

Geraldines finished strongly, with Spaight, Corrigan, Nordon and Michael Rogers all adding scores to complete an emphatic quarter-final victory.
The final whistle confirmed Geraldines’ progression to the Intermediate Championship semi-final.
