TEAM NEWS: All Set For Cork

Louth Senior Football Manager Gavin Devlin has named his Louth Senior Football Panel for Sunday’s Allianz League Division 2 Round 2 clash with Cork at the Integral GAA Grounds in Drogheda.

The starting XV remains unchanged from last weekend’s victory over Offaly, with Conall McKeever recovering in time after being forced off early in that encounter. Dermot Campbell once again anchors the defence following an immense performance from the Clogherhead man last weekend, while Donal McKenny continues at corner-back after returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

In midfield, Conor Early and Dara McDonnell will partner each other in the continued absence of vice-captain Tommy Durnin. Assistant Manager Peter Dooley confirmed last weekend that the 2024 All-Star nominee is unlikely to feature until the latter stages of the league due to an ongoing calf issue.

Up front, Louth boast considerable attacking strength, with Sam Mulroy, Ciaran Downey, Ryan Burns, Ciaran Keenan and Conor Grimes all included. Paul Mathews starts at number 10 after an impressive showing in last weekend’s win in Tullamore.

Eoghan Callaghan and Tadhg McDonnell made significant contributions from the bench against Offaly and will be eager to make a similar impact if called upon again. The likes of Sean Callaghan, Pearse Grimes Murphy and Daire Nally also provide strong options, among others.
