Gavin Devlin has made five changes to his starting team following the win over Cavan ahead of Louth’s clash with Derry this Saturday, 14th March, at DEFY Páirc Mhuire.
Padraic Tinnelly, Craig Lennon and Ryan Burns have all dropped out of the 26-man panel, with Tadhg McDonnell and Ciaran Downey named among the substitutes. Burns has failed to recover from the injury he sustained against Cavan, where he was forced off after a standout performance that earned him a place on the GAA.ie Team of the Week. Regulars Tinnelly and Lennon are also unavailable, with Devlin expected to provide a fitness update following Saturday’s game. McDonnell was also forced off during the Cavan match but has recovered in time to take his place on the bench.

Coming into the starting side are Daire Nally, Eoghan Callaghan, Tommy Durnin, Ciaran Keenan and Conall McCaul. It marks a first start since last year’s All-Ireland Preliminary Quarter-Final against Donegal for both Nally and Durnin. Callaghan and Keenan have already featured in the starting team during this year’s league campaign, while McCaul makes his first start of the season.

In other squad news, Peter Lynch remains the only long-term absentee. Anthony Williams has returned from injury and is named at number 21 for the game. Liam Jackson continues his recovery from the injury he sustained in the O’Byrne Cup clash with Westmeath, while Ciaran Byrne is also still working his way back to full fitness.
