Monaghan Await in Croke Park Quarter-Final Clash
Our Senior Footballers have been drawn against Monaghan in the quarter-final of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship.
The game will take place on Sunday, June 28th, at 1.45pm in Croke Park, as part of an exciting double-header. Galway and Dublin will meet in the second quarter-final at 4.00pm, with both games being shown live on RTÉ.
This will be the third consecutive year that Louth and Monaghan have faced each other in Championship football. In 2024, the sides shared the spoils in Clones, finishing level on 2-10 apiece, with goals from Craig Lennon and Conor Grimes. Last year, Monaghan edged out Louth by 4-8 to 1-23, just two weeks after Louth’s Leinster triumph in Newbridge. Sam Mulroy and Tommy Durnin both found the net twice on that occasion.
Louth have progressed directly to the quarter-finals following victories over Dublin in Round 1 and Armagh in Round 2A.
Monaghan, meanwhile, bounced back from a Round 1 defeat to Mayo. They produced an impressive 1-20 to 0-14 victory over Connacht champions Roscommon in Round 2B before continuing that form with a win over another provincial champion, Westmeath, yesterday in Clones, posting 1-28 to 2-19.
