Week 4’s Lú Club All Stars 25′ : Intermediate Team of the Week has been selected, with 6 clubs represented from the four quarter-finals that took place.

Clan Na Gael opened the weekend with a 1-16 to 0-12 win over Glen Emmets.

Hunterstown Rovers overcame a sticky St Kevins challenge on Sunday afternoon on a scoreline of 0-12 to 1-7.

Mattock Rangers showed no hesitation as they beat St Brides by 2-16 to 1-11.

Meanwhile Monday night football saw Stabannon Parnells defeat Sean O’Mahonys by four points in front of a huge crowd, 0-11 to 0-7.

Week 4 Intermediate Team of the week:

Congratulations to all of this week’s winners!

Breakdown:

Mattock Rangers – 4

Stabannon Parnells, Hunterstown Rovers & Clan Na Gael – 3

St Kevins & Sean O’Mahonys – 1 each.

Week 4 ‘The Brew Crew Cafe’ Intermediate Football Player of the Week Nominees:

  • Ben McKenna (Mattock Rangers): Dominated midfield and got on top of St Brides in the midfield battle. His all-round game was exceptional and he led an extremely efficient Mattock Rangers performance. Also struck a classy late two pointer.
  • Ryan Burns (Hunterstown Rovers): Returned from injury just in time as his side needed him against St Kevins. Kicked 0-9 of a 0-12 total and was typically sharp in the key moments.
  • Sean Reynolds (Stabannon Parnells): Stood up to a seriously physical challenge in impressive fashion. Kicked a brilliant point and dictated the game for his side.
  • Conall McKeever (Clan Na Gael): Quite simply outstanding. McKeever was the difference on Saturday evening as Glen Emmets had to switch his man to man marker a number of times. Drove directly at them throughout the game and got serious rewards.
