After agreement among the Louth Co.Boards Management Committee last Sunday night, they decided to keep this seasons championship fully intact and the same as previous years, but they did decide to change the format of the league.

Tonight the draw was made for division 1 and 2 leagues, where division 1 will now consist of 2 groups (A+B) with 6 teams in each. The division 2 league will take the same format. The winners of A+B will then compete for the league title, but there will be no promotion and no relegation this year.  Division 3, which is already split into two groups (A+B) will continue as it has been but without relegation and promotion. Each team will play 2 league games before the championship starts and the remaining three once it finishes.

The draw tonight really whetted the appetite for the season ahead. The groups are as follows.

Division 1 Group A

Geraldines, St.Patricks, Dreadnots, Sean O’Mahonys, St.Brides and Cooley Kickhams

Division 1 Group B

Ardee St.Marys, Mattock Rangers, St.Mochtas, Naomh Mairtin, Newtown Blues and St.Fechins.

Division 2 Group A

Oliver Plunketts, Clan na Gael, Roche Emmets, St.Kevins, Dundalk Gaels and Kilkerley Emmets.

Division 2 Group B

O’Connells, Dundalk Young Irelands, Naomh Fionnbarra, Hunterstown Rovers, St.Josephs and O’Raghallaighs.

Division 3 Group A

Lannleire, Glen Emmets, Na Piarsaigh, Naomh Malachi, Westerns and Glyde Rangers.

Division 3 Group B

John Mitchels, Cuchulainn Gaels, St.Nicholas, Wolfe Tones, Annaghminnon Rovers, Dowdallshill, Sean McDermotts and Stabannan Parnells.

All leagues are down provisionally to start on Sunday 2nd August, with championship set to start on Friday 14th August. Fixtures, dates and times will be announced in due course.

A very exciting few weeks ahead.
